Governors

Our Governors

The governors have responsibility for overseeing the direction of the school, working closely with the school’s senior management team who are in charge of its day to day running.

The Full Governing Body meets at least once each term. In addition, there are a number of committees which meet more regularly to discuss various aspects of the school.  Copies of minutes of meetings can be requested from the school office.

The main committees are:

Finance & Premises – The Finance & Premises Committee has the all important task of overseeing the finances of the school together with the running of the current school site. 

Education – The Education Committee oversees all matters relating to the education of pupils at Shalom Noam.

Admissions – The Admissions Committee is responsible for conducting the admissions process in accordance with Shalom Noam’s Admissions Policy.

Staffing – The Staffing Committee is responsible for all matters relating to our teachers and staff.

IT & Data - This committee ovesees and supports the school's use of IT and data.

Who are our Governors

Nahva Rose (Chair):  Nahva is a practising nurse at a GP surgery. She is also the mother of child with special needs and as well as being a governor of Shalom Noam is a governor at Kisharon Day School.  She has an interest in SEN and safeguarding.  She is a Foundation governor, appointed until 31 August 2024.

Maurice Salama (Vice Chair): Maurice is a real estate professional involved in managing debt and equity investments on behalf of a private family office. Most recently he was an Associate at GreenOak, a real estate focused principal investing firm, responsible for origination and underwriting of European transactions.  He is a Foundation governor, appointed for a four year term until 31 December 2026.

Adam Azoulay: Adam works in the property industry, originally from an accounting background, he now specialises in Leasehold and Ground Rents with a focus on facilities management and M&E services.  He is a Foundation governor, appointed for a four year term until 31 December 2024.

Daniel Clyne: Daniel is a solicitor with Kingsley Napley and advises developers, entrepreneurs, family offices, funds and occupiers on commercial real estate transactions. Daniel's son attends Shalom Noam. He is a parent governor appointed for a four year term until 16 March 2027.

Alexander Gold: Alexander is a qualified accountant and works for KPMG, where he leads an internal Transformation function. He has experience in advising large organisations on business planning and budgeting. He is a current Trustee of the Federation of Synagogues and has previously served in a number of other voluntary positions.  He is a Foundation Governor, appointed for a four year term until 30 July 2026.

Myron Green: Myron is a qualified Chartered Surveyor, primarily specializing in residential enfranchisement matters. He is on the board of a local Shul and is the co-manager of one of his son’s football teams. He is a co-opted governor, appointed for a four year term until 31 December 2026.

Miriam Landau: Miriam previously worked at the Board of Deputies where she was involved with PR and fundraising. She currently has a full time job making sure her children are looked after.  On top of which she is involved in a number of community initiatives. She is a Foundation governor, appointed on 1 January 2019 for a four year term.

Yitzchok Landau: Yitzchok is a qualified chartered surveyor, specialising in business rates for commercial properties.  He is the director of Landau Rating Consultants.  Prior to setting up his own rating consultancy business, he was at Gerald Eve and CB Richard Ellis. He is a Foundation governor, appointed on 1 January 2019 for a four year term.

Kevin Lazarus: Kevin is a solicitor at Lloyd’s of London.  He specialises in insurance law and regulation.  He was previously a solicitor in private practice, including at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert in the Reinsurance & International Risk Team.  He has previously been a committee member of the British Insurance Law Association. He is a co-opted governor, appointed for a four year term until 31 December 2026.

Maurice Lowinger: Maurice works as a technical project lead at an international investment bank in the City. Communally he is President of a local synagogue and along with his wife has a role as a Marriage Enhancement Program (MEP) tutor for the United Synagogue. Maurice has had children attending Noam since 2011. He is a parent governor, appointed for a four year term until 16 March 2027.

Judith Newman: Mrs Newman is a member of the chol teaching staff at the school.  She is the staff governor, appointed for four years until 16 March 2027.

Matthew Pearlman:  Matthew is an actuary specialising in general insurance. He has over ten years experience as a governor having previously been governor at Menorah Foundation School, including serving as chair of governors. Matthew is the local authority governor, appointed for a four year term until 18 November 2023.  One of Matthew's responsibilities for Shalom Noam is Pupil Premium. 

Chaya Posen: Mrs Posen is the Headteacher of Shalom Noam.  Before joining Shalom Noam she was Deputy Headteacher of Torah Temimah Primary School.  She has also had previous teaching posts at Beis Yaakov Primary School, Pardes House Primary School and Beish Chinuch Lebonos.  As headteacher, Mrs Posen is an ex officio appointee to the governing body.

Tova Solomon: Tova is a qualified primary school teacher, currently teaching at Beis Yaakov. She qualified in 2001 and she has taught at a number of primary schools.  She is a Foundation governor, is a Foundation governor, appointed for a four year term until 31 December 2026.
